Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Oakland CA US

Sungevity is looking for a full time DevOps Engineer to join our Software Team. This can be a telecommute role from anywhere within the continental USA-or if you reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kansas City area, or Inland Empire, you can mix remote work with some time in the local office.

You will own the setup and improvement of all high-availability environments that support our complex software platform, and will play a crucial role in product scoping, roadmap and architecture discussions. Your proficiency in Jenkins/AWS/Docker and your problem-solving mindset are key to troubleshooting and stabilizing our existing environment, allowing us to support business needs that are driving rapid growth of the company.

Duties

  • Troubleshoot and update Platform provisioning code for Test, UAT, and Production environments
  • Release major software features to production
  • Design and test disaster recovery plans and technologies
  • Respond to on-call service alerts
  • Participate in engineering team success through code contribution, collaboration, and consultation
  • Manage ephemeral infrastructure service resources through code-based automation

Skills:

  • Jenkins, Docker, AWS (EBS, RDS, EC2, VPCs, Cloudwatch, IAM), Ant, GitHub, JFrog Artifactory
  • Additional desirable skills: MySQL, MongoDB, exposure to Salesforce and/or NetSuite, Jira, Confluence
  • Strong aptitude for provisioning cloud-based infrastructure via API in AWS
  • Scripting/coding experience in one or more languages, especially Python, Javascript, Scala, Java
  • Expertise at the Linux CLI

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems or other technical field
  • Must have 2-5 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Engineer
  • Must have Jenkins, AWS, and Docker experience in a production environment
