Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff; provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses prepared by the team
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Apply the same accounting fundamentals required of the Accounting Analyst role, including:
- Accrual accounting
- Balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Variance analysis
- Internal controls and documentation
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
Partner with internal stakeholders across finance and business teams
Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with policies and controls
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and accuracy
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
2+ years of people management or supervisory experience
Strong foundation in accounting fundamentals consistent with the Accounting Analyst role
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
