Research, analyze, and resolve unpaid, denied, or past-due claims and collection discrepancies
Communicate internally with Billing, Cash Applications, and Client Management teams to resolve payment issues
Follow up on outstanding and denied claims within required timelines (every 30 days; high-balance accounts biweekly)
Collect on past-due claims and determine root causes of unpaid balances
Monitor and report on account aging (90+ days) and high-dollar payer balances ($10,000+)
Meet annual cash collection goals at least 75% of the time
Ensure proper coding and documentation for payer projects and unresolved accounts
Address unresolved items weekly to move funds to invoices, unapplied cash, or refunds
Maintain accurate records and submit required reports monthly
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (or higher)
Experience with accounts receivable, collections, or healthcare billing preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment
Proficiency with Excel preferred; strong general computer skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
