We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Software Product Manager intern to support Adaptive's growing mission. This position will work closely with other Technical Product Managers, UX Designers, Software Developers, business stakeholders, and QA. With support from an experienced mentor, you will create a product vision, establish a prioritized product backlog grounded in customer needs and business impact, and coordinate the design, implementation, and release of those software features.
This opportunity will enable you to experience all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile development environment, all while contributing to life-changing technology to further our understanding of the adaptive immune system.
Learning Objectives
• To learn industry best practices for software product management including creating a product vision, establishing and managing product backlogs, managing business stakeholders, designing user experiences, and applying agile methodologies to design, implement, and release product enhancements.
• To learn how to work collaboratively in a cross-discipline team environment.
• To learn how to work in a regulated environment (e.g. FDA, CLIA) while still moving fast.
• To learn the scientific basis of Adaptive's core technologies which drive products across biotech research, health diagnostics, and therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Create a vision articulating the ultimate potential for a software product.
• Manage business stakeholders to understand customer and business needs.
• Establish and manage product backlog.
• Coordinate with UX Design team to establish elegant product experiences.
• Author Epics and Stories to inform product development utilizing Scrum Agile methodology.
• Support team through software development, testing, and release activities.
• Work in cross-functional teams to ensure superb end-to-end user experiences for customers.
Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)
Required
• Undergraduate in computer science or a related field, or commensurate experience.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
• Experience in the life sciences.
