Defining the services offered by OIT and determining how those services are provided, specifically whether they are “owned,” “provided,” or “guided” (assuming they are offered at all).
Providing that which the agencies demand – deep technical expertise – through the lens of agency strategic objectives.
Providing a lifecycle management approach to all IT assets so that the total cost of ownership is understood and accounted for and the State of Colorado is improving the health of its technology balance sheet from year to year.
Overseeing all technology services, product analysis, and software architecture activities as well as influencing statewide IT policies and future projects.
Driving IT innovation across the State of Colorado, including standards around application development, software, hardware, data, and networking technologies.
Responsibility for technology standards across all government agencies. Including but not limited to all applications and enterprise architecture.
Overseeing the technology architecture and application support and development of more than 1000 state-wide applications, ranging from Medicaid to Unemployment Insurance to Public Safety to Cattle Branding.
Motivating cross-functional teams to effectively deliver complex projects with an agile mindset.
Actively engaging to improve leadership skills, develop others, and foster inclusivity Attending training, development and group training on topics of inclusive leadership.
Requirements
A minimum of ten (10) years experience leading the operations of at least two of these functions: Network Services, Technology Operations, Applications Development, Service Delivery, Technology Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, or comparable.
Including a minimum of seven (7) years experience managing staff in a large, matrixed environment.
