Position: Tax Review Specialist
Type: Independent Contractor
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: Flexible hours
Role Responsibilities
Review various U.S. federal and state tax returns and related forms/schedules.
Extract concise insights such as filing status, income sources, and deductions/credits.
Create verification checklists and follow-up questions to confirm accuracy.
Flag anomalies and edge cases like multi-state moves and amended filings.
Analyze tax returns to document key findings and verify facts.
Work independently and asynchronously to meet project demands.
Qualifications
Must-Have
CPA or EA, and 4+ years of experience in U.S. individual/business tax preparation.
Strong knowledge of Form 1040 ecosystems and state equivalents.
Excellent written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with sound judgment on materiality and data quality.
Comfortable working with provided materials and following confidentiality guidelines.
Start Date
Start after a brief calibration/pilot to align on style, depth, and formatting.
