Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Own backend services and APIs end to end — from technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability Drive architectural decisions within your team, bringing structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous problem spaces Lead improvements to core platform systems, including data pipelines, service reliability, and business logic Design and enable safe, repeatable experimentation through robust A/B testing and analysis workflows Diagnose and resolve data quality, performance, and correctness issues across systems Write clean, well-tested, maintainable production code and set a high bar through code reviews and technical mentorship Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data to translate goals into technical designs and execution plans Shape the technical direction of your team and contribute meaningfully to cross-team architectural discussions

7+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production backend systems
Deep backend engineering expertise, including service design, data modeling, and API development at scale
Experience building and operating systems where reliability, data quality, and performance are critical
Proven ability to operate in ambiguous problem spaces and drive clarity across technical and cross-functional stakeholders
A highly data-driven mindset, comfortable with experimentation, measurement, and optimization from both product and technical perspectives
A product-minded approach — you understand how technical decisions impact user experience and business outcomes
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of influencing cross-functional partners including Product, Design, and Data Science
Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
A bias toward ownership, speed, learning, and continuous improvement
