Design, develop, and maintain scalable software systems that enable comprehensive security observability across OpenAI’s infrastructure
Build and optimize data pipelines to centralize security-relevant data from diverse sources, ensuring data integrity and accessibility
Enhance the resilience and reliability of data systems to support high platform availability and operational continuity
Collaborate with Detection & Response (D&R) teams and other security groups to identify security gaps and implement effective solutions
Support forensic investigations and compliance efforts through data engineering and analysis
Continuously evaluate and improve security monitoring tools, data collection methods, and infrastructure security protocols
Participate in cross-team projects to develop and refine security detection and response capabilities
Stay informed on emerging security threats and incorporate best practices into system design and implementation
Requirements
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or similar
Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
Strong background in building and maintaining data pipelines for security use cases
Knowledge of security monitoring, detection, and forensic investigation techniques
Familiarity with data engineering principles and practices
Understanding of site reliability engineering (SRE) concepts
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
Proactive problem-solving skills with attention to detail and security best practices
Experience in scalable system design and high-availability architectures
